UV Light Propagation for Better Results
Patented Translucent Technology creates faster fly catch and improves food safety.
Conventional insect light traps (ILTs) usually only disperse UVA light from the front, creating a limited attraction window for flies. Brandenburg’s Genus range of ILTs are equipped with proprietary Translucent TechnologyTM that enables them to disperse UVA light from the top, front and sides, creating a much wider window of attraction, helping to catch more flies faster. The less time flies occupy an area where food is being prepared or processed, the less time they have to transmit a disease they may be carrying.
Independent studies have shown that Brandenburg’s Translucent Technology disperses UVA light 2.4 times greater than conventional units. This results in 186% more flies caught in the first 30 minute of operation.
By using insect light traps (ILTs) in our Genus® range, such as the Cobra, Orbit, Optica and Eclipse Ultra, the risk of spreading foodborne pathogens such as E. Coli and Salmonella is vastly reduced. In addition to infecting customers, these diseases can be devastating for a business.
Translucent Technology also helps to conserve energy and save money. Combined with Brandenburg's specially engineered electronic ballast, about half the number of units from the Genus range will provide the same effectiveness as conventional ILTs, resulting in a 62% reduction in running costs and CO2 emissions over a five-year period, according to independent studies.
